Welcome to Prairie Woolworks and Log Cabin Antiques

As you know by the shop names above, two of my passions in life are Rug Hooking and Country Antiques. I have been in business 30 years and how time flies when one is having fun. I have a great hubby, 2 married children, 4 grandsons, and a cat named Sam.

In business, I began buying and selling antiques 30 years ago and rug hooking about 20 years. These two passions go hand in hand - both warm our hearts and our homes.

From the Mountains to the Prairies - we sold our Estes Park, Colorado, shops in 2001 and 2002.

We opened a new shop in October 2003, just south of Lincoln, Nebraska. We are closer to our families. In 2007 we moved the shop from the little log cabin (pictured here) to the court yard level behind our home.

The little log cabin is now Log Cabin Inn - a one large room restful place to stay.

We moved into our loghome December 2003. It is a Bob Timberlake™ square-cut, hand-hewn log home.

Our mission remains the same: to promote rug hooking, make the supplies available, and to inspire others to learn this wonderful folk art. Place an order and/or visit our studio and shop. Call first for hours open as we are out and about. We love meeting new people from all over as we did in our Estes Park shops. The antiques and woolens from our shops in Colorado are in homes across the nation.

Prairie Woolworks

Our woolen studio, Prairie Woolworks, features two walls of wools and all the supplies, as well as a gallery wall of rugs. We carry the mill dyed, hand dyed, & wonderful as-is textured wools. Classes and workshops are held also. Our all day "How to Dye Wool" (or "Wool to Dye For") workshop is always in high demand. A large rack holds fabulous patterns by well-known designers such as Woolley Fox, Edyth O'Neill, Morton House, Cabin Creek, and others, as well as our own line of designs. (See "Links" for web sites) In the past we have hosted, Kathy Morton and Barb Carroll workshops.

I went out to be a friend,
and friends were everywhere"
